Welcome to Carolina's webpage for Caonao and Jagua
(para leer esto en español ir a un enlace Español arriba).
The books are here! For those of you who have been waiting so long, don't wait longer, go now to the eshop order page.
For those of you who are new please peruse the website, checking out the pictures.
Caonao and Jagua - and me, the author - have been honored with an invitation to present at the famous 2012 International Havana Book Fair.
Caonao and Jagua (Caonao y Jagua) is a colorfully photographed bilingual book. Because the English/Spanish text is identical and on facing pages, it is fun for everyone from middle school age through adult, especially adults who are Spanish/English language learners [also those who would like a peek at some Cuban scenery].
Based on a Cuban indigenous legend about the second Eve (actually about assimilation between the Ciboneyes and the Tainos), I've expanded it into a choose-your-own adventure story.
Almost all the photos are taken in Cuba, with the "characters" photoshopped versions of Cuban Rita Longa's marvelous statues of indigenous.
Enjoy.
Remember, if your first language is Spanish or if, like me, you like to keep practicing, go to the link above that reads Español and if you have questions about the book, write to me at carolinacoz@gmail.com.
You can order one or more copies of Caonao and Jagua/Caonao y Jagua on the eshop page, and I'll send them "pronto".
When you order, please consider donating one or more books to a school in the U.S. or Cuba - you may select the particular school.
You also may still order a downloadable ebook on the eshop page and now you may order a bilingual audio CD, or if you prefer, one in Spanish only or in English only, also on the eshop page.
In any event, please sign the guest book, I want to know you came. Your comments don't have to be only about the book, if you'd like to chat with me about Cuba or other topics, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you
Carolina
